Ieke van den Burg, member of the European Parliament for the Party of European Socialists

Ieke van den Brug will give a lecture on June 18 about the topicality of the current financial and economic crisis. Based on her extensive experience in financial markets in Brussels she analyzes the crisis. She also deals with matters such as improved regulation, stronger European supervision of financial markets, more stringent European macro-economic coordination regarding the global relationships and how we in the Netherlands can anticipate on these developments.  
       
Ieke van den Burg, is a member of the European Parliament for the Party of European Socialists (PES) for more than 10 years. Other mandates are:  Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, Committee on Legal Affairs and Committee Budget Control. Before she was elected for the European Parliament she was a special advisor for the European Trade Union (ETUC) and executive of the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions (FNV).
